Free schema markup generator for service businesses
Generate valid JSON-LD for the five schema types a service business actually uses — LocalBusiness, Service, Organization, FAQPage, and BreadcrumbList. Fill in the fields, copy the code, paste it into your page. It runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored.
For your homepage or contact page. Pick the most specific type that fits — a Dentist or Plumber tells search engines more than a generic local business.
Include the country code, e.g. +1-416-555-0134
Two-letter code, e.g. TX or ON
$, $$, or a range like $150–$900
A photo of your location, team, or logo
Cities or regions, comma-separated
One URL per line — Google Business Profile, Facebook, LinkedIn, Yelp, industry directories

How to add schema markup to your site
- 1
Pick the type that matches the page.
LocalBusiness on your homepage or contact page, Service on each service page, FAQPage only where the questions and answers are visible on the page, BreadcrumbList on any page below the homepage.
- 2
Fill in exactly what the page shows.
Structured data has to describe the visible page. Markup that claims something the page doesn't say — a rating, an address, a question — is the specific pattern Google's manual actions target.
- 3
Paste the code into the page.
The generated <script> block can go in the page's <head> or anywhere in the <body>; Google reads JSON-LD in either place. Most site builders have a custom-code or header-injection setting for this, and on WordPress a header-scripts plugin or your SEO plugin's schema settings do the same job.
- 4
Test it, then watch Search Console.
Run the page through Google's Rich Results Test before publishing, then check the Enhancements reports in Search Console over the following weeks for errors Google finds once it recrawls.
Which schema types does a service business need?
Most service businesses need three on every relevant page — LocalBusiness (or Organization), Service, and BreadcrumbList — plus FAQPage wherever there's real question-and-answer content. Picking the most specific LocalBusiness subtype that fits, like Dentist or Plumber instead of the generic type, tells search engines and AI models more precisely what you do.

Schema markup questions
Is this schema markup generator really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no email, no usage limits. It runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to us or stored anywhere.
Where do I paste the JSON-LD code?
In the page's <head>, or anywhere in the <body> — Google reads JSON-LD in either location. Add it only to the page it describes: LocalBusiness on your homepage or contact page, Service on the matching service page.
Will schema markup improve my Google rankings?
Not directly. Google has said structured data isn't a general ranking factor. What it does is make a page eligible for rich results and tell search engines and AI answer engines exactly what the page is about, which shapes how and where it shows up.
Does Google still show FAQ rich results?
Only for a small set of well-known government and health websites, since a change Google made in August 2023. FAQPage markup is still worth adding where real question-and-answer content exists, because it labels that content clearly for other search features and AI answer engines.
Can I use more than one schema type on the same page?
Yes. Add each one as its own <script type="application/ld+json"> block — LocalBusiness and BreadcrumbList on the same page is common. Every type you add should describe something actually visible on that page.
Should I use LocalBusiness or Organization?
Use LocalBusiness, or a more specific subtype like Dentist or Plumber, if customers visit your location or you serve a defined local area. Use Organization for businesses without a local presence, such as an online-only company.
